 * EM (Lebanon) (FC) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2008] UKHL 64

  A Lebanese Muslim woman and her son fled their country on the understanding that an Islamic divorce her entitled her to retain custody of the son. Under Sharia Law, the son had to return to the father when reaching the age of 7 but the Court found that would breach her human rights to enjoy the family life she had developed in the UK.
